Photographs from Utah

Ok, so I'm not really sure what is going on with the layout of these photos, but hopefully they will look ok when I actually post this. I honestly don't know if anyone reads this, but it would be awesome if I could start posting more photographs and getting some feed back on them. I'm no professional, in fact I've never even taken a photography class, I just want to know what could make my photography better. The school I go to offers a class, I just haven't gotten around to taking it yet. I feel like I've progressed just about as far as I can on my own with my photography, and I have had some very helpful advice from others in the past. So, if anyone actually reads this, knows anything about photography, and has some feedback, it would be amazing to hear some opinions.
About these photos... The picture of the girl is my good friend Carlee! While in Utah she took me to Bridal Veil Falls. The shadow picture of the guy walking on the bridge is one I'm proud of, yet I can see where it could be better. To me the framing is a bit off, and the city lights are blurred in the back ground from where I'm pretty sure I moved the camera. I used my tripod, and had the camera on manual settings. Since I wasn't exactly sure how long of an exposure I wanted I put it on bulb and I think that is where the shake came from, because I had to hold the shutter down for the length of the exposure. That could be fixed I'm sure with a remote. By the way, that's my friend Brian, and that bridge is at the University of Utah near some soccer fields and a tracks stop.
The silhouette on the mountain in front of the city lights is of me and a boy who shall remain nameless. And to those of you who asked me, no we are not dating, the kiss was strictly for photography purposes. I used a self timer and tripod for the shot. At first I had my camera set on manual, but I couldn't quite figure out the settings. So I just switched to auto with no flash, and got this! It's not of the best quality, and we maybe could have found a better location, but I still really like that photo. I may have framed it.
I really wish I had something more profound to talk about now. I'm kind of procrastinating decluttering my room and writting some papers. I also have a take home exam I should have started last week... But I really would appreciate some feed back.
